Original AC stuff for 1960 F-100
Trying to locate some original AC parts or information for factory AC on a 292 V8 with the original front crossover exhaust. Thanks.

As someone who had 2, 1960 F-100's, I've have never seen one with air. I'm sure they are out there in the south or western parts of the country. Good luck!

Re: Original AC stuff for 1960 F-100
I'm wondering if Ford ever put the 292 V8s in passenger cars? I figure they're more likely to have had AC. I plan to use an era-correct aftermarket blower under the dash but wish to use the original hardware under the hood, if possible. We'll see.

If any got air it was most likely the aftermarket type like sold at Sears or other automotive shops, some of the factory air back then was the under the dash systems like what the aftermarket offered.

I mounted a 'factory' 66 Mustang unit in my 64 F-100 and the holes on the brackets lined right up to the predrilled holes in the bottom lip of the dash. That's what makes me think you could probably get the dealer to put one in. Those Mustang units are VERY similar to the aftermarket ones, with the advantage of looking good in a Ford due to the emblems. An aftermarket unit like a Sears, Monkey-Wards, Haydee's, etc sometimes crop up at swap meets and of course eBay. Good luck.
