Re: This is funny
I have a large steel chest with 36 drawers. One is marked 'spark plugs'. When I change spark plugs, it's with one of these. A wire brushing might occur first. I signed up for facebook about 3 months ago so I could join a woodie wagon forum. I couldn't figure out how to do it so I gave up. I'm somehow still on facebook and now have 26 old schoolmates or others ??? with a notice in about being a 'friend', whatever that is. I already have 3 friends right here on the island, along with my wife. If I had more than that I'd never get any wrenching done. It's quite a world out there.

Re: This is funny
And yet, if they started a NEW thread, someone would post, "Do a search, we've covered this before!!!!". I sometimes wonder why some people are ON these forums. They are pissed when someone starts a topic that has been discussed in the past and pissed when someone drudges up a topic that was discussed in the past looking for more info. Perhaps there is a 3rd way to get answers on a forum that I am not aware of??.

Re: This is funny
Not sure what that means regarding posts, however, reliving the past is what most people here seem to be trying to do with these old cars.

I actually enjoy those types of subjects as long as people stick to the facts (regarding the mechanical differences, advantages/disadvantages) and perhaps SHARE there opinions as long as they don't diss someone else's OPINION or try to push their OPINION on others..........yeah, I know.....good luck with that one....... |

Re: This is funny
That would be the most civilized spark plug discussion i'd ever seen.

Re: This is funny
Uncle Buck, you're right. "This is funny" meant we are to have a chuckle about ... ourselves.

Re: This is funny
What it means regarding posts is that if a topic has been beaten to death before, there is no sense in beating the dead horse again. You can just read about it instead of asking people to talk about it again.

Re: This is funny
It seems to me that, if someone drags up an old thread, they obviously HAVE "read about it" but didn't find the answers they were looking for. I doubt very much that are any subjects that have NOT been discussed in the past on forums like this that have a rather narrow focus so, if people are going to be offended by people bringing up topics that have already beed discussed before, the forum may as well just be locked down and used as an archive. Fortunately, not all long time members get annoyed by newcomers asking questions that are new to them but old to the guy that has been in this hobby for decades and are eager to help newcomers with their new found hobby. For those that already know it all and get tired of, or are just not interested in helping newcomers, just don't read or respond to the questions!!!. In fact, If someone feels that they already know it all and are not interested in helping newcomers, it makes me wonder why they even log on in the first place.
