Default Polarity for an Airtex E8902 6V Fuel Pump

I'm in the process of installing an Airtex 6V fuel pump on my '46 Super Deluxe Coupe with + ground. The pump leads are marked + and -, and the correct polarity is important for fuel flow, according to the instructions. My logic tells me to connect the + lead to ground and the - lead to the power supply lead. Comments?
