Default 56' Battery Cable Brackets

56 Country Sedan 312

I need to replace my positive/neg battery and starter cables. Since my wagon has been scabbed together over the years, I truly do not know what brackets are needed to support the cables.

Currently I only have one bracket located on inner passenger fender that hold the starter cable. Is that the only bracket/bushing required for the negative, positive, and starter cables?

I ask this question because on several classic auto parts sites, there is a three pc. bracket set available. Is there supposed to be three brackets or just the one I have?

I cannot locate pictures or diagram noting these cable brackets for reference.

Thank you

Can you post an URL describing the brackets?

The only retainer from FORD was a hold down on the SOL to STARTER cable.

Thank you KULTULZ. Here is URL: http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb....Z5Z5Z50000051c

From your diagram, appears there is one starter bracket.

Full-sized Fords like yours have the battery & starter solenoid mounted to the pass side inner fender. Pretty much right above the starter, so fewer support brackets are needed.

I suspect the three piece set may be for '55/'57 Thunderbirds.
They have one bracket for the positive battery cable mounted to a heat shield / battery hold-down bolt and one or two more across the firewall / back of the engine to keep the starter cable from rubbing on the bell-housing.

Thank you dmsfrr and KULTULZ for the diagram and pictures. Very much appreciated for the info and clarification. I can order confidently and check these off the list.
