24 Hours, No Marshall ??
" Bartender, Whiskey. Leave the bottle. "
Someone from the Ford Barn community needs to look in on our hapless hero and drag him outside into the day light for a few hours. Last I read he was seeing things moving from the tar pit in the bell housing. He is too good a Model A man to let drift off 'round the bend'. May the Model A Gods bless him with mechanical enlightenment. JB |

So, I am sure that Marshal (as well as Elvis) would use the famous remark made by Samuel Clemens, upon reading of his death: "The reports of my death are highly exaggerated." |

Re: 24 Hours, No Marshall ??
You're ALL correct! I was at every one of those places and doing all those things in the past two days, which is why I haven't had time to write the next episode of the continuing soap opera "As the Tranny Turns". The weather has been so favorable - and the wife so insistent - in the last two days, that I have been "persuaded" to get out of the garage and finish up the front porch repairs on our 1903 house before the bad weather arrives this weekend. Tomorrow morning, Wifey will be attending a woman's club meeting for a couple hours. This will give me the window I need to slink down to the garage and install JUST the engine so that I can start it without the suspicious transmission attached. If all goes well without banging and a sudden stoppage, attention will then be turned to disassembling and inspecting every item in the transmission until the culprit has been identified.
One way or another, I should be able to post something tomorrow afternoon. Hang in there! I am not keeping you readers in suspense because I am sadistic. I can't wrap this thing up because I want to stay MARRIED and be able to continue sleeping indoors, especially with the upcoming winter. Can anyone in the Peanut Gallery identify with trying to keep the Significant Other happy by sacrificing time otherwise spent working on our antique Fords??? Marshall |

Marshall is a simple idea. Happy wife Happy life
And then you can devote some time. Not as much as you might want but some time to your old ford . I learned this very young in my marriage of going on 44 years. And I still screw up on such a regular basis I sometimes think that I am just unable to learn . I hope that you are able to find your issue before you hurt some of the iron out of frustration. .

Yes Marshall, I believe it's referred to as the 'pursuit of domestic tranquility'. It isn't discussed much in any restoration manuals so you kinda gotta wing it......you are on your own big guy !
Good luck with the simple stuff, Model A mechanical problems. Us guys can help with that ! JB.....who keeps the work bench clear just in case the couch is not an option. |

Re: 24 Hours, No Marshall ??
Once my late wife (bless her) found me beavering away on a Model A when I should have been engaged in household husband type duties . She said "YOU ARE OBSESSED !!!" Look on the bright side I replied at least i am not chasing schoolgirls, she then said " I can easy sort a schoolgirl out but your cars have got me beat" That was I suppose a bad day as we had very good times going to meets rallies etc .etc. the high point being a meet with Dutch Model A club touring tulip fields real wonderfull times with like minded folks . Nothing like seeing 60 plus As in your rear view mirror !!! . Just got my 35 year pin from MAFCA ,made in China as the previous two were . Got to thinking if I live long enough to get my 40 year pin will it be made in USA ??? . Recent events might have some bearing on it !!!

Re: 24 Hours, No Marshall ??
Hello John! I think I saw one of those "Home Bases" the last time I was in the UK. We were not too far north of London IIRC. Seemed to me it was laid out like Home Depot or Lowes and about as big. I was surprised to see that. I only caught a glimpse as we rode past. It was on an "A" road as I recall.

Re: 24 Hours, No Marshall ??
There was a time when Britain was termed "the world's workshop". It seems we have both given it away.
