Re: AA tow truck
To get a crowd they need to offer a free doughnut with every purchase.
I went to a few auctions near Benton Harbor, MI, where the auctioneer gave a silver dollar to each of the first 20 people to show up. |

heh well it gets people there, then they see something shiny they want and they stay. Then they figure well I've already got a number I might as well bid on that thing too!

Re: AA tow truck
"Do your homework"; where would I go to do my homework? Are there references for cobbled-together, chopped, non-original, missing doors, seats, splash aprons, fake roof, incorrect hood yard art that's not worth the time to tow it home? Sure wouldn't want to a a "stupid offer". Why don't people put a price on their treasures?

Re: AA tow truck
The Boom was a Manley. I didn't stick around for the price, I was mad at myself for getting duped. Somebody asked what I thought it would bring, I said maybe $100 for the boom anf they would leave the rest. With today's scrap price it has negative value. I think it's a 29, with a 4 speed and disc wheels. Worm drive rear, cut down frame and driveshaft,

thats the downside to piles like this as you would need a decent trailer with a winch on it just to get it home to disassemble and scrap about 70-80% of it...
