bearing for steering calum
a Friend of mine wont's to replace the upper bushing in his steering calum with a bearing. who is the vendor that sells the kit, can you let me know,

orchard supply, has bearings that fit in the column and go around the shaft, check the wheel barrel department or the specialty fitting draw area. very inexpensive way to do this.

C and G Parts carries the bearing and sleeve. It's the same as the original Ford unit. I use them and they work well and not too expensive. I think Sacramento Vintage Ford also has them.

I will also attach some pictures of the wheelbarrow wheel bearing that I picked up at our local Tractor Supply Store for ~$3.29. This also works well, although there was one guy on a previous post here who apparently had a problem fitting this one in his '39/'40 Ford coupe steering column. This can be read about here: http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61577 In the last three pictures I show o-rings added to the WB bearing to help the stability of this bearing when mounted inside the top of the column tube.

John, the top photos is one that i have. my friend saw it and he wonts one. a friend got it for me and he can't remember where he got it from, thanks Brendan

Dan has the best setup. My 36 has had one for yrs. hardest part is yanking the old rubber one out. You wont be sorry. ken ct.
