Red face 1940 Ford 4 Door Sedan Deluxe

Greetings gentlemen. I have a couple more questions please: Where is the circuit breaker located for all the lighting in the vehicle AND does anyone know the bulb number for the glove box door clock light ? Thanks again guys ! KC

usually up under the dash , on the firewall inside, below the windshield, driver side in most 40's cars

I’m away from my shop this week but I think it’s a 62 bulb. Check any of the V8 parts vendor's catalogs, they’ll have them listed.

The original wiring for a 1940 Ford (and any good reproduction replacement wiring) do not have a circuit breaker, they have a fuse.


Edit: I got this wrong, too long since I worked under the dash of a 40. Please read Kube's post next for correct information.

There is most definitely a circuit breaker in all 1940 Ford passenger cars.
It can be seen in the upper - left corner of this photograph.

Thank you Kube. Now I know what it looks like and the location. Would you happen to know the lamp number for the 40 Ford clock light? Maybe a #55 ? KC

You need a 2cp bulb for clock light, a 50 cp for tail lamps.
