Default New guy introducing myself.

Hello everyone, new guy here, I would like to introduce myself. I will go by the name old guy rich. This is the first time I have visited this site. What I have read here on this site seems friendly and helpful. I think I will enjoy this site, and maybe ask a few questions from time to time if you don't mind. I had a 50 Merc in high school back in the sixties and just managed to buy one last month. It is nothing special, all stock, 4 door, original interior in excellent shape but has a few small dents. The only thing not factory is an electric fuel pump and that seems to work OK. The car has 59 thousand original miles according to the previous owner and the documentation that came with it. That's about it for now, thanks for listening. old guy rich.

Hey old rich guy, welcome to the Barn! Your Merc sounds very special to me. Keep it that way and you'll be eligible for a Rouge award from the V8 Club!

Thanks Alan, I plan on keeping it stock, it drives better than the one I had in high school. Alan it's old guy rich, not old rich guy, I'm not rich by and means. LOL. Thanks again.

old guy rich, welcome. I have a '51 Merc.4dr sport sedan also. it is stock.am currently having a problem with the old electric. fuel pump (not stock ) on my car. took it out to ck for a possible o/d problem, and discovered a fuel leak. this is a good place to find information and encouragement. I have had my '51 since '94 and am just now starting to have a few problems. not bad for all those trouble free miles. car now has 84,000 actual miles on it. a true survivor, with plastic seat covers.

Sounds pretty darn special to me. Yours is just the way I like 'em.

Welcome! Nothing wrong with having 4 doors!! I have a couple of them. You will find thoughtful answers to your questions. Some questions have MANY answers like "what is the best oil" but I don't think there has been a problem that wasn't solved after a number of folks chimed in. There is a LOT of experience here for you to draw from. You can post pictures in public albums in your User CP. I love those 50 Mercs and they always have eluded me!

Welcome Old Guy Rich, I think you will like this site very much. This site has been around since the late 90's (last major update 2010) and is full of knowledgeable members. I suggest wondering around as much as you can, also the search tool (search this forum) near the upper right corner is your friend and a great tool. Have fun, Mark
