Either way, let Google be your friend.

"In Australia, a swag is a portable sleeping unit. It is normally a bundle of belongings rolled in a traditional fashion to be carried by a foot traveller in the bush. Before motor transport was common, foot travel over long distances was essential to agriculture in the Australian bush.""
A Swagman or Swagie walked everywhere with his sleeping bundle especially during the depression. A swag these days is a sleeping bag, mattress and tent together that can be rolled out in the outback for easy setup and go.

Station Wagon: A station wagon is basically a sedan with a longer roof and a tailgate to create more room for cargo or luggage. Wagons also often have longer wheelbases to add legroom in the back seat, which can be great for a family with older children.
Swag: a kind of combined sleeping bag and tent to accommodate one. As Updraught says, they were popular amongst those who wandered the country during hard times looking for work.

Still one of my favorite groups.

And you thought we Colonials had trouble with the King's English........

Pack up your swag (Aussie sleeping bag used for camping a lot without a tent) before you head to the doof, (rave party) and you can even bring a doonah (down comforter) if you’re keen (want to) for a bit more comfort. You’ll need an esky (Cooler) too to keep the beers cold.

I don't know what they call tent camping - but a travel trailer is a Caravan.

Mine too but those less charitable souls who didn't like them sometimes referred to them as "The Shriekers."

The Kennedys have always liked their Ford cars.

Here is the US Ambassador's father, the late, former president of the USA, John F. Kennedy (JFK)(center), hanging out with some friends and their Ford Model A Phaeton:

>>I don't know what they call tent camping - but a travel trailer is a Caravan.

Camping with a tent is, well, camping with a tent. We use a tent if there is a lot of sand like Fraser Island or Simpson Desert.
A camper trailer is between a tent and a caravan.
Our mid 90's camper trailer is basically a box with a tent on top and a good independent suspension. Like the top one here:

The company Track, has moved on to far more flash and expensive camper trailers:

The camper trailer we drag around the country behind our Model A. Small and light but it's only somewhere to sleep before he next adventure (next day). https://www.google.com/search?q=imag...hrome&ie=UTF-8

We still have tent trailers here some even with generators and air conditioning. I've always liked teardrop trailers https://www.cooltears.com/

I'm doing the research and parts gathering to build one of these to tow behind the A. I was born in Saginaw where they were made.

The new Track camper trailers here sell for between A$90,000 and A$110,000 with no generator or air conditioning, and there is a waiting list.

The old camper looks interesting. I wonder how it folds out?

Don't forget Dave Gerold's homemade camper that he towed to Alaska and back.

The bedding goes on the floor in the center of the trailer and the bed frames are hinged at the trailer sides. the tent frame is wood with the canvas draped over it.

Thanks. That was most interesting, especially the video. Be interesting to set up the bath in the camp ground! I think there might be a few people here interested in building something like that.
