Tire Stems
Why are the stems so tall? Having trouble servicing without bending them over, which I don't think should be done.
Thanks |

Re: Tire Stems
Yes, they are tall. I have one 90 degree air nozzle that snaps onto my air hose that fits over the stem without tweaking the stem. Never good to bend the stem while airing up tires.

Re: Tire Stems
You should not have a problem with the length of original Model A stems other than the Schrader 888's that use a 3" dust cover. What stems are you running?

Re: Tire Stems
Harbor Freight sells a kit that contains numerous air hose ends. One is perfect for the Model A. About $12 dollars.[

Re: Tire Stems
On a recent road trip, I learned that most air dispensers out on the highway have a long nozzle that is incompatible with metal valve stems.
Will be carrying my 90 degree nozzle on the next trip.....

What ever stems that came with the tubes -- I was just wondering why do they have to be so tall. At my age, I've trouble bending my back, and now? I'm looking for 'easy' |

Which brings up another question; Has anyone ever used a motorcycle tube in a model A tire? Is it even feasible? I see Coker has a tube with a 1½" tall stem.
