I know this is not ford related...just engine from back then...
A bit of a challenge to deal with a 10,5" bore cylinder....not even the FL boringbar with oversize cutters will take it...but it´s something different.
It´s an early rawoil "diesel" engine used in a museum sawmill.

That looks like a little more advanced 4 stroke with valves.
This one is a 2 stroke horisontal cylinder.
JWL you have a bigger lathe then me...would take a 2+foot boringbar...i´ll try and get it up in the big mill with a horisontal bar.

One of my brothers worked an a natural gas pumping station for quite a few years. The engines they used to compress the gas down a pipline were all giants like ship board engines. You could crawl inside the cylinders on some. The Cooper Bessemer twin horizontals and the Worthington V12 were pretty big but the ship engines were likely some of the larger ones.

Some of the old single cylinder oil field pump jack engines were about that size.

Nope! They start by "climbing" the flywheel spokes. Check YouTube for "hit and miss" engines, or "oilfield engines".

You might consider a VTL. Might have to make a fixture for mounting it, At Bullards, we did allot of big cylinder boring.
