I almost bought a 3/4-ton pickup cheap, just to get the Early Ford floater rearend (axles bolt to hub) and the wide-five artillery style rims. I didn't even need them, but I knew how hard they were to find. I suspect those are where the rims came from that were used on the early dirt track jalopies Some track roadsters and drag cars used the early floater rearends because they didn't break keyways and axles.

I searched Google for a photo of one of those 3/4-ton pickups with the wide fives and didn't find a single image. Then I searched eBay and to my surprise there is a pair of rims for sale. I should have bought that truck with the rims and floater rearend. It was cheaper than they want for these two rims. I had I got to thinking, what am I going to do with a 3/4 ton pickup after I remove the rearend and rims.

I think I read on the HA.M.B. that the rims from 16" wheels on Mopar mini-vans are a good fit for wide five centers.

I'll see if I can find the post.

50droptop, thanks for posting this info. I knew the 18" w5 wheels existed, but I had never actually seen them.

In early 1937 Ford offered the 18 inch wheels -- called high ground clearance wheels.
Mainly for rural delivery vehicles -- like Post Office.
I have two of them --

Mounted on a car, the look is similar to Bruce wearing Levis with cuffs rolled up above his ankles.
