Re: Car Pictures
Great collection of cars! I would have a hard time deciding which to drive for the day. I think I would name them after days of the week to make sure I rotated. :-) Which is your favorite? I like how you left the gas pump with original paint. What did you retire from?
Do you have any pictures of how you attached that body roller/tilt mechanism? Does the roller go the length of the car or is it in two sections? What gauge of metal did you use? Great idea! The only thing I would change on that body tilter is bumpers on the ends to save my ankles. Have a great retirement! It makes me feel good to see someone going into retirement. George wow... I looked back... allot of questions :-) |

Re: Car Pictures
I haven’t looked at the forum for several days. So I will try to answer all the question from the last few days.
1. Which is your favorite? It depends on the type of event I am going to, I really love them all. The coupe is the best car for touring. I am currently building a 31 fordor for long trips. 2. The gas pump is a 1925 Gilbert and Barker, may have to paint it some day. 3. What did you retire from? I was a Senior Reactor Operator supervisor at the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant for 30 years, no more sleepless nights for me. 4. Do you have any pictures of how you attached that body roller/tilt mechanism? Does the roller go the length of the car or is it in two sections? This question was from a previous post . barney 003.jpg barney 005.jpg The tilt mechanism is made from light gauge square tubing with legs and rollers about 10 inches long. The rails that bolt to the body are 2 pieces and extend past the body so that when the body is tilted it is at a 45° angle. This was the by my friend Barney Hixson. This is his sport coupe. 1. Any more pics or details on the speedster? The speedster is a 29 cowl with the boatail fabricated from two International truck hoods. It has a B-engine installed with a Simmons Power head, Mallory 12 volt ignition, and Aluminum intake with twin Holly 94’s. The brakes are hydraulic from a 40 Ford. Transmission and differential are stock Model A. Wheels are 16 inch from a 35 Ford. http://home.comcast.net/~31model/wsb/html/view.cgi-image.html--SiteID-2517334.html |

He said the same thing to me about no more sleepless nites. Nice round collection. Re: Car Pictures
Which wheels? The yellow wheels on the chevy is the color for the 1967 Ford Fairlane.
The the Vicky wheels are just green and not the correct color, they were that color when I got the car a few years ago. |
