Side Curtains for Model A 1929
Trying to purchase a set of side curtains for my Model A 1929. Anyone have a set for sale?
Also wondered if possibly there is a sewing pattern available that my wife could maybe make a set? Thanks, Dave |

Re: Side Curtains for Model A 1929
What body style is your 1929 Model A? If it's a 1928-29 Phaeton, I have a nice, full set of side curtains made in black Stay-Fast material, complete with the four curtain rods and carrying bag. The plastic windows are clear. If you have a roadster or roadster pickup truck, however, I can't help.

Re: Side Curtains for Model A 1929
I have yet to find a pattern set for my 28 roadster. A friend of mine helped me do my top and now we are working on making a set of side curtains for the roadster. Funny thing is that the side curtains are almost as expensive as the top. Go figure. I bought my Cartouche top in 2015 for $450 and today's prices it is around a $1000.

Re: Side Curtains for Model A 1929
A full set of side curtains in the Stay-Fast upgrade material for a 1928-29 Phaeton costs close to $2000 with a year's wait, as I understand it. And that's without the four curtain rods and storage bag. YIKES!!! Heck! I'd sell mine with rods and bag for 1/3 that, although used, still very nice.
By the way, the door side curtain should be the same between a 1928-29 Roadster and Phaeton. They are the same door, after all. Marshall |

Re: Side Curtains for Model A 1929
A couple of years ago an older couple were trying to come up with the same thing. They were capable, but preferred to find something to copy.I have a mid 28 phaeton, and told them they could copy mine.I put a clean sheet on a table next to the car in my cellar, and told them the curtains were under the floor in their tray.I told them to take their time,as I was working on the new house,so they spent a couple of hours tracing the curtains onto meat wrapping paper.(they used to own a little store)I did the same thing for a woman about 10 years ago with the curtains from my 30 standard roadster.I just turned her loose with her tape measure, camera, and notebooks. It'll be a little harder to get help without a location. You'll be missing the people that will say, hey,I'm only 20 miles from you, come on over.

Re: Side Curtains for Model A 1929
David, I have a 30 Roadster and no side curtains. Yes, finding a replacement curtains is a major problem. Using available photos and cardboard, a pattern was completed. The local upholstery shop is back lodged and will not look at the project for at least six weeks.
Good luck |
