Radio identification
What I would like to know what Model V8 does this radio fit ? it was on its way to the rubbish dump, and it was rescued.

Re: Radio identification
Hello Ian,
I have this same 1540 model fitted in my 1938 Standard 85HP 4 door. My one fits the dash board cuts outs and contours exactly so can only assume that it was factory fitted or an after market option fitted later in the vehicle's life. |

Re: Radio identification
I think the F-1540 pictured was made for the 1938 Deluxe & Standard Ford cars but that type would likely have been a 1 year only since they changed in 1939. The data plate states "Ford of Canada" so keep in mind that the Canadian company may have variations in use of that model.

Is the tin cover still in place under the main chassis of the radio? The radio in my car is missing this cover and all of the under chassis components are exposed. I am working at Rapanui on the edge of Taranaki this week so would be interested in taking the radio off your hands. |
