Default trivial: new wiring harnesses etc. never really fit the posts they go on?

have you guys ever noticed that many new loop wiring terminals, be they on the various harnesses or on trickle chargers, never really easily go onto the posts and you have to hog out the holes somehow?

these items ought come with a reminder to pre-fit the terminal before any ultimate hookup. it's annoying to hook up the instrument panel terminals easily, then find the terminal box ends don't fit.

I’ve never measure them but I would guess it’s due to the harness using metric “equivalent “ terminals that don’t quite match up with inch-size posts.

Send it back to the parts house you got it from and request one that is right.

I think that's because over the years some electrical terminals are #8 stud and some are #10 stud. I've had to enlarge a few, vise grips and a hand-held drill are your friends. I picked up a bunch of straight and flag terminals in both #8 and #10 and now I solder on new ones (I'm not a huge fan of crimping) when I can't get the ones on the harness to work.

I’ve never lost sleep over it! If its a major difference call and send it back to supplier! If its minor fix it on the spot and carry on!

I've never had a problem with the wiring harnesses I have received from Sacramento Vintage Ford.

Their are different manufacturers of every Model A harness. Some make them right, and some do not.
