hard start
Well I got a new problem. It starts after a little coaxing, take it for a 1/2 drive
runs fine, come back home, shut it off, it will not restart again until I crank it for 5 minutes!!. Any ideas ? |

Re: hard start
I'd start with the coil and condenser. The fact that it gets worse as it heats up is indicative.

notwithstanding. You might also consider installing an electric fuel pump to prime the pump.

Re: hard start
Carb?
Faulty needle valve. Punctured float. High fuel level. Power valve ruptured. Power valve gasket not seating. Power valve cracked. Carb base and body joint failed causing vac leak into power valve chamber. Quite a few things can make a 94 rich and will be a hard start when hot. Does it fire quicker if foot held to floor while cranking? Mart. |

Re: hard start
I would try 5 or 6 gaskets under the carb. Does not sound like ignition with the parts you have installed. Try checking for quality of spark when trying to start. All of the connections clean and tight? If all of the foregoing fails try a stromberg 97 or 48. They gaskets solved my hard start, but I also blocked the heat riser - mine is a fair weather setup. Mart’s suggestion of flooring the accelerator when trying to hot start is good - that will point you in the right direction.
