Default RHD with a LHD wiring harness

I am in the process of fitting an off-the-shelf wiring harness designed for a left hand drive vehicle to my RHD 35A Phaeton. Two issues, the horn wire needs lengthening, not a problem. But with the wires that go to the Terminal box, as per the attached photo, I thought of extending the joined two wires with a single wire to the relevant terminal in the Terminal box. Question is, what gauge wire should I use to replace the two wires with a single wire?

Also, I am a tad confused as to how and where to fix the wiring for the rear stop lights. I am inside the rear fender and need to get the cable to the frame and the light harness. Is the cable run along the fender braces or just clipped in place and which way? Any photos would be appreciated.

Cheers
John

30 Amp should suffice as a single wire, but 50A will be ample . Gauge numbering for electrical wires these days is rather misleading as most modern auto wires can take a lot more amps than their thickness would suggest.

I think that wire goes to the generator cutout. When I wired a RHD car, I extended both wires so it would look correct at the cutout.

OK, I should have Googled it first.

Check out:

They have a RHD wiring harness listed for the Model A. I've never used one so can't speak to the quality.

Has anyone on the Barn used a wiring harness from these guys? (even if not RHD)

They did one for my 33. RHD. Excellent quality but a couple of wires were too short and appeared to be for LHD version (the yellow wire for the generator for example) . They told me they carry the patterns for most RHD models but be ready to add some length in one or two sections.

I have fitted a LHD harness to a 1928 RHD 35A pheaton . You effectively turn the harness "upsidedown" for the headlamps ,the rear lamps it is just a logical hookup as LHD .The only modification I can recall is that I extended the horn and generator wires ,plenty of room to clip them under the rad .

John in wet windy dark Suffolk County England .

Rhode Island wiring makes a RHD harness. Go to 39 and earlier US, then click on Ford, and follow down just past 1931, and there it is.
