Default Engine Pan query

Can anyone direct me to a source with clear instructions as to how to fit aftermarket engine pans to a RHD 1928 Model A? Directions and photos or a video would make my day!

There is lots of chatter on the Fordbarn but from the searches I have done most of that is around the benefits or lack thereof rather than the nitty gritty of how to mount them.

Thanks

I don't think the RHD makes a difference, but it's a simple process. Loosen the oilpain bolts that line up with the tangs on the pan. Slide the slot in the tang around the bolt. Leave'm loose to give you some play while you do the three mounting holes on the frame side. Mount below the frame rail. Tighten all the nuts, then go back and tighten the oilpan bolts.

Three small vise grips placed on the frame rail clamped to the bolts to keep them from spinning helps greatly. If you work alone, you cannot reach both sides at the same time. I always place the lock washer and square nut down (below the pan).
Good Day!

On the left hand drive cars, I've found that the drag link can get in the way and scratch a newly painted pan. Sometimes turning the wheels/drag link will allow the pan to clear. Are the nuts supposed to be on the up side of the frame rail ??

No, the nuts and lock washers should be down.

Originals pans had a flat area on the lower front 1/2 of the pans.
