Default shocks for 47 sedan

A friend has a 47 2dr he restored, nice job, he asked me last right at a cruise in about his shocks, have his rebuilt or install tube shocks, I see Joe's Antique Auto has tube shocks with conversion kits, some one here on the barn rebuilds those arm shocks, I cain't find the name and no. What do you guys think? Walt

andy falandes <[email protected]> Andy took Bill Wzorek's shock rebuilding business. He rebuilt four for me. I haven't installed the fronts yet. I was having lots of rebound from bumps with my tube shocks on the rear because of the extreme angle of mounting. I installed the rear shocks in tandem with my tube shocks. I haven't worked out the best setting yet, but they do dampen the rebound. Rebuilding the original is definitely not the cheapest route, but they are adjustable for the control you need.

Is there a description anywhere in the manuals or service bulletins
showing how to adjust these shocks?

I don't have any printed instructions. When I installed mine I set them about 1/4 up from the softest setting and they are way too hard. I'll soften them up and try until I like the ride.

Hello, I have a set of shocks for a 46, they have been professionally rebuilt by Five Point Classic Auto Shocks in California, would carry warranty, never used, open to reasonable offers, can be contacted at [email protected]
