Default How to transport a Bugatti type 35 C

Bugatti type 35s are among the most famed racing cars in history, with current auction prices reaching millions of dollars.

Our local vintage car magazine did an article on John Isberg who was a well known racing profile over here before ww2 and at some point was Scandinavian champion.

He raced several Bugattis, among them a 35C which sadly left the country in 1935.

So, how did he get his prized 35C around from race to race ?

What better means than a trusty Double A ?

The photo with the 28/29 seems to be when going to a race. The one with the 30/31 is when he sold the car off to Finland in 1935.

Yes, those are cool indeed. Please consider placing them in the Commercial Vehicle thread.

The 30/31 AA seems to be fitted with a locally made cab. Also, it is fitted with a wood gas generator. Judging from the writing on the bed, Mr. Isbergs company was dealing such equipment.

The gas cooler can be seen on top of the cab. Under the bed there is a piece of equipment which I would guess is the gas blower fan. Also, I guess that the generator burner itself is fitted in the forward left corner of the bed (out of sight in the photo) This would explain why they have had to load the Bugatti with its narrow boattail to the front, leaving the Bugatti front wheels suspended behind the rear edge of the AA bed.
