Aren't '33 & '34 exhaust systems the same? Thank You!

The 1928 to 1934 Ford published parts book shows a picture of the complete system which is made up of four separate pieces plus the muffler. You used to be able to buy all of the pieces once upon a time. Right hand drive chassis is a different to left hand drive exhaust system. Regards, Kevin.

Waldron's Exhaust has the whole kit. I bought a complete kit minus the muffler and it fit well. There is also the option for stainless steel.

Robert,

You're right about original mufflers. That shown in the photos in #5 above is not ar original Ford muffler as it lacks the formed circumferential beads near each end as shown in the illustration from the '34 chassis parts catalog. Further, it appears that unlike the original, the muffler and inlet pipe are not one piece.

Pete, here are some photos of the replacement muffler in my '34 Ford. It has the convex end plates, and the welded-on header pipe. However this muffler lacks the crimped circumferential beads near each end that David G described.

Pete,

That's a post-production 1932 V8 service inlet pipe and muffler assembly which incorporates the same muffler as the '33-'34 production assembly. The '33-'34 V8 version's inlet pipe is noticeably shorter
