Thanks for helping me zero in on the build date of my truck. (The date is not shown on the seat riser cross member)

The one piece splash apron cut-in date is a lot earlier than I originally thought. Even earlier maybe?

I have the round speedo too. What was the cut in date for that?

My engine is dated April 1930. I originally thought is was a replacement engine. Could it be the original engine to my truck? I dont know the lag time between the engine build and the truck build. I do know it was built in Buffalo.

You would have to get the frame stamping to see if it matches the engine... But that's under the apron / fender on the rail.... Does your title match the engine number??? If so it prob is original

If I'm reading Steve Plucker's gas tank article correctly your tank was used
from June 1930 to about April 1931.

Frame is unreadable since I'm not going to lift the body. Title was regenerated by the last owner based on the engine number...so no help there.

I also had a couple of 1930 A,s with the one piece splash apron. both were original cars that were never restored. Both had round speedos. One was built November, one was October.

One piece splash aprons came about in mid '30, along with the ROUND speedo.

Interesting. I used to have an August 1930 Closed Cab with round speedo and 2-piece aprons. Course Ford tended to use up old stock on trucks before going to new stuff.

I believe all 30-31 pick ups came with the round speedometer. The 30-31 style trucks were introduced mid 30 when the round speedometers were also introduced.

Dunno. Apparently the OP's 31 has one piece but they could have been changed in the last 85 years.

Well, sorta. The early 30 trucks had the oval speedo. These had a square cab similar to the 28 - 29 but there were some subtle differences. I guess it depends on one's definition whether these were truly distinct 30 models.

I would think that the victoria body would have lead the pack with the change to one piece apron, even though the early ones may have had the earlier style aprons. At the same time, I doubt that they ever had the earlier tank and instrument panel and speedo.
