Default 1931 Model A cabriolet 68c clock in mirror?

I have a 1931 Ford model a cabriolet 68c that has remained mostly original. I’m asking about the rear view mirror as mine has a Viking clock in it. I was told that it’s not original to my year and model. I have the mirror apart for repair and I will try to send a pic of the clock. Are Clocks in the rear view mirror something that my 68C from 1931 would have?

I will try to send a picture of the clock now. It is a convertible with a slant windshield but I’m not sure the color Scheme of the car and wheels are accurate. It is black and brown with red wheels. Any help would be appreciated.

The only clock offered by Ford was a header mounted clock made by Buren. It is pictured in the Service Bulletins as well as Judging Standards. Mirror clocks were “aftermarket” items.

You are allowed 2 era accessories for fine point judging as I recall.

Mirrors would be an easy thing to swap out for fine point anyway.

Moleskin Brown was a color used on the whole body of the 1931 Cabbies. The fenders and running boards were always black as a general rule. Orange was used for the wheel and stripe colors on the moleskin brown body color according to the book "The Model A as Henry Built It". Others state different accent colors depending on date of manufacture. One source states French gray accent stripe and another stated a Tacoma creme color so I don't know where the original combinations actually are.

Moleskin Brown (Light) is generally a dark tan color or a light brown color.

From the factory few if any 68C's had painted wheels. You could pay extra to have the wheels painted to match the strip. This was usually done at the dealer.

Fenders for all A, except some commercial purchases, were dip painted black.

Most have been repainted so what the original color would need to found by looking places that do not normally get painted.
