Angry Computer genius needed, Model A related

I need a genius. I am mostly computer illiterate. I recently purchased a farm property with a very large barn ( arena ). I had arranged to have a forty foot airbrushed mural of Model A Fords painted on the front of it. I had saved it in a file under delete and I accidently erased the file and the artists contact information. Is there any way to get those emails back. I hired a computer techie but to no avail. I am in desperate need of help. If you are a computer genius can you send me a private telephone number. Many thanks. Wayne

If you ever sent him a message, go to your "sent mail" box which will be underneath the "inbox". Search his name or key words you used in the "search sent mail" and it should pop up.

i don't know his name. He answered my ad for an artist I placed on Kijiji so his identity address was not his name. I knew him by JR. and I have googled everything I can think of. Wayne

Who do you have for your email provider? I went to Gmail about 10 years ago so that me and the NSA don't lose any of my emails.

Just out of curiosity, this isn't Him/Her, is it? How many people do this work in Sarnia??

If it is a file you deleted look in the recycle bin. If it is there right click on it then restore. Icon for the recycle bin should be on your desktop.

If it is an e mail you deleted I don't have any ideas. Recent deleted emails can be restored but old one's usually get sent to the boneyard. Which email program was it in?

it was an email and I deleted the entire file I kept it in. He lives in a city 200 miles away which has a population of likely 3 million people ( Toronto , Ontario, Canada ) I have since posted 5 ads on Kijiji hoping to attract his attention.
The email provider is a great idea as I have not tried it.
Thank you everyone for your help as this is very important to me. Wayne

I use hotmail, and my deleted emails will still be in the deleted file for at least several days if not a month or more. I've had to retrieve a couple that I accidentally deleted.

Here is some general computer info:

When you delete a file the data in the file is not removed. The hard disk directory is updated to indicate that this file is no longer needed and its space on the hard drive is now available for new files. So if (and it is a BIG IF) no new data has been written to the hard disk and put in the space allocated to the deleted file it is easily recovered (Google "deleted file recovery' to find utilities that can do this.) So if you ever mistakenly delete a file DO NOTHING that would cause new data to be written to the hard disk until you get it back.

With deleted emails you might be lucky in that it may still be on the server of your email provider. Contact their tech support to see if you can get it back.

If all else fails just follow the same path you use to find the artist in the first place and you may find him/her again.

Look to see if there is a deleted folder on your pick list where you can select New Mail, Old Mail, Drafts, Spam, saved and Deleted folders. I know that my deleted stays forever unless I change the default setting to dump it automatically after a period of time I select. Your's may be the same. If then email is still there you should have the option when you open it to save it to another folder so you can move it to your saved or old email folder if you choose. Tim

C26Pinelake,,,, from some of the 'art work' I've seen by gang bangers on the sides of railroad cars that pass by here, that they do with spray cans of paint, maybe one option is to get them to come out and do that mural. BEFORE you move your antique cars in

(Makes you wonder, if these people would get an actual job they could probably do quite well!)

If you're using an "Enterprise" version of Outlook, there's a menu option under:
Folder->Recover Deleted Items.

completely off topic on my part but i fully agree! those guys have WAY more talent than i do in the art department! Such a shame they couldn't get a push on the right track for art school or something.

but anywhoo yea do what the others have suggested by checking recycle bin, deleted items folder in outlook, or if you ever replied back to him check your sent messages folder.

I searched a bit. Found a list of Toronto street painters with samples. Maybe one of these will ring a bell. Easy site to browse thru.

I'm a painter myself but don't do large scale items. Mickey Harris is one of the best. I think he moved to South Dakota.

When I have a computer problem, I find that my grandchildren are a valuable source of information. Good luck on the recovery.
