Default '38 1/2 ton pickup rear fenders-flatbed vs. box

I am needing rear fenders for my '38 1/2 ton pickup with the regular box on the rear. I came across some rear fenders for a flatbed pickup with the channel on top and have been told that I can easily remove the channel and use them on my box. Any thoughts or insight on this? I would gladly trade them for regular fenders if someone is so inclined. Jim

lI had a chance to buy one of those fenders a few years ago but passed on it .it looked like to much work to make it" look" right. I would think those style fenders would bring a premium
because of the low production numbers . I have probably bought 6 or 7 fenders over the past 25 years ,always upgrading and selling off the old .mine are not super nice heres my 39 in work mode .Good Luck . Mike P

I would agree that the stakebed fenders would be rare enough to not want to cutup. But you have to do what you have to do.

The rear fenders are out there but most as pretty beat up. But they do exist.

my old fenders... post 22.

ended up turning out okay, using 2 to make 1. (rear still needs final paint)

Another alternative would be a quality fiberglass pair from Wescott's over in Damascus, Oregon. 1-800-523-6279

RRF3841PU (RH) LRF3841PU (LH), I got no dimple for a spare tire

Thanks for the input. I thought I might run across someone that had actually changed some fenders but maybe he doesn't exist. In looking at the flatbed pickup posted today, the gas filler hole looks to maybe be higher up on a flatbed pickup. Jim
