1953 Fuel Pump
I need to purchase a mechanical fuel pump for the 1953 EAB flathead in my 1941 pickup. Was the orginal fuel pump a Ford script part or from another vendor? I have found new Airtex and Carter brand pumps for sale. The Carter pump is slightly more in cost, but appears to have the same gph and pressure range as the Airtex pump. I am familiar with the Carter brand name and I have a stuck "46" flathead with an Airtex pump on it, so both brands seem to have been around for awhile. Does anyone have any experience with either brand of pump on their flathead? Anyone know if either pump is American made? Thanks, bq

Re: 1953 Fuel Pump
Aittex is headquarted in Illinois and has manufacturing plants in Illinois and Indiana. They may also ave overseas plants. Their fuel pumps have been around since the 1930's and some people swear by them.
Carter claims that all of their pumps are made in the USA. Either pump should give you good service.
