This is the real deal. The internet auction site Bring A Trailer is one of the longest running classic car internet auction sites.

Was right hand drive at one time.

Has anyone seen that type of cable to the distributor before?

There is a lot to like about this car from the pix, and some apparent seemingly small issues that raise questions, like what it is going on around the t-box and the ignition cable, and what about those head bolts. I’d also like to see what the shocks are. If it was closer and I could put an eye on it and I needed a phaeton (which I’ve always liked, but really don’t need at this point in life) I might put a bid on it.

In 50 years in the hobby I’ve never seen a Model A that was perfect, outside of trailer queens at car shows. Any I’ve ever bought have always needed at least some corrections and tweaking. Now, since the cars are pushing 90+ years, and I’m 76, I’m more cautious than ever.

Restamped engine too. No A prefix, the shape of the 0 and 1 aren't quite right, and the 4 looks double-stamped.

I agree we're being nit-picky. It's probably great for a driver. I do think it benefits sellers to acknowledge these things in the listing, because it creates doubt. But I also credit this seller for taking excellent photos for us to nit-pick with.

Definitely converted to left hand drive from a right hand drive car. The speedometer is in Kilometers. Likely from South America. Could be from South Africa, Australia or other former UK empire places. The steering column mounts can be see on the right side of the tank. The support on the left side is a late 1931.

This car was RHD and is ex Argentina or Uruguay . It has the fender lamps as fitted to Argentine and English production . Exports to the British Commonwealth were built in Canada and had speedometers in miles no kilometres . No Robertson screws on that dash rail so USA built . The single tail light is on the right side as a RHD car would be . The steering bracket has been cut off and just left the hole for the GAV rod . Nice solid looking car a great pity it has been "converted" would have been worth more if left original IMHO .

John in Suffolk County England .

Is the bright work silver painted? It is hard to tell but I don't see clear reflections.

It looks like most of the old cars on this site look very nice from the outside but no engine room detailing which makes me wonder about the mechanical conditions.

Go to the link on the car. Watch the videos. A lot more info! Also this Model A is one the best bodies and fenders I have ever seen as original. Also mechanically it runs great and drives and stops very well. It has the correct shocks. The engine number wth the * 2071254 * matches the Ca. title exactly and appears unaltered to me. You will not be disappointed in ths Model A if you are a serious realistic buyer.

This Model A is amazing condition. Nickle plating still. Look at the link, photos and videos.

Personally, the 1930 Coupe on BAT (at twice the $$) displays more class.
