1932-34 Ford Pickup cabs
I was going to purchase what I was told was a 32 cab but when I looked at the photos the reveal on the back appears to be a 33or 34 . Aside from this are the cabs basically the same. Even though it would not obviously totally correct could I put a 33 or 34 cab on a 32 frame and have it fit the same as a 32 cab. thanks for any assistance on this Tom

Re: 1932-34 Ford Pickup cabs
The major and obvious difference that separates the '32 cab from the '33 and '34 versions (each is unique) is the separate firewall which is an integral part of the later cabs plus the relocation of gas tanks to the rear in those later cabs.
It is only the '34 closed cab with the extra molding on the back of the cab to accommodate the higher seat back cushion spring in the cab. The moldings on the back of the '32 and '33 cabs are the same. The cab-to-frame attachments differ between the '32 cab and the '33-'34 cabs given that the chassis frames are completely different. There could be clearance issues in front of the integral firewall on a '33-'34 cab mounted on a '32 frame given that those cabs' firewalls protrude forward more than the '32 cab's separate firewall. |

Re: 1932-34 Ford Pickup cabs
I built my first 2 deuce pickups using 33 cabs with slightly modified stock firewalls. Both used stock length 32 hoods. There is also a bead at the rear of the front visor that most 32 cabs do not have and there is a seam where the top is attached to the A pillar. When I had them finished with the hood closed they looked like a 32. I did have to redrill some holes on the subframe to bolt to the 32 frame and I used stock style 32 wood kit for the sub floor. Both turned out really nice. Built my next 2 trucks with 32 cabs.
