Default cam shaft centre line

Any one know the centre distance between the camshaft and the crankshaft centres.
also the bore diameter of the block were the valve guides fit.

Lawrie Have a look on Vince Falters site , ford garage.com. I know he has the center line measurements you need . Good luck

My crank and cam were about .004 too close. I figured it out after chewing up a few fiber gears. Dan McEachern (510) 532-8228 (California) made me a beautiful custom gear set to resolve my problem. Dan is very knowledgeable and reasonable price also.

Four and a half years after this thread, I had to call on Dan to provide me with a -.005" timing gear to salvage a "fresh" short block that has been haunting me for decades after a run-in with America's Sweetheart antique engine family. The mains had been line bored just a little off. Hoping that it's not your problem just keep the Dan option in mind if it continues to destroy timing gears. Good Luck: Fred A

Sure will, I have just yesterday fixed the main bolts looseness up,and will then look at the fix for the cam.
