Default 31 Coupe window regulator problems

Not wanting to hi-jack the other thread:

http://69.61.21.195/forum/showthread.php?t=10373

My coupe window creeps down when it is all of the way up. At first, I thought I'll move the crank so it is in the down position, but this didn't fix the problem. In fact, with the window up you can press your hand against the window and with down pressure against the window pull it all of the way down.

So, it looks like I'll need to replace the regulator, unless someone has a fix for the problem.

My question is who makes a quality regulator replacement?

I will offer one suggestion that might help. It worked for me.

On the window regulator is a small round canister that contains a coiled piece of spring steel. The canister is generally attached to the regulator framework with several steel rivets. Drill out the rivets and take the canister and steel coil apart and clean them in solvent. Do not lubricate -- because the spring must grip the inside of the canister, and act as a friction brake, whenever gravity tries to cause the window glass to lower. The spring steel coil will get rotated as you crank the window up or down, and the cranking will release the braking action of the coil. Reinstall the canister with pop rivets or tubular rivets - but shop test to be sure the new rivets don't interfere with movement of the regulator lift arm or gear.
(The first time I restored a regulator I made the mistake of putting some grease in the canister. I found out that with the lubricant the window lowered on its own, as I drove the car!!)

That's what probably happened to this one. You get out of the car, lock and shut the door and the window drops down.
