'32 BB truck builder info wanted
Howdy boys, long time since I've been on here. I'm looking for someone who has restored and/or knows these trucks real well. I am in possession of a one owner to restore, but I don't know much about them. I'm sure I'll need a few parts, so that kind of info would be helpful also. I am a fair Model A mechanic, so I think I can get this done, I just need a few pointers on occasion. Thanks guys!

Get a copy of "The 1932 Ford Book" from the Early Ford V8 Club, https://shop.efv8.org/collections/fo...tbound-all-new. The book is mostly passenger vehicles but there is a great deal that is common. Add your general location to your profile, you can never tell when it will pay off.

Do you know the differences in a 32,33 & 34 cab? HRP

Re: '32 BB truck builder info wanted
The '34 seat back is higher and another belt molding was added to the back panel above the two that exist on the '32-'33 back panel to create space for the higher seat back. The '33 and '34 firewalls are an integral part of the cab while the '32 firewall is a separate component. On a '32 cab the instrument panel is separate from the dash whereas on '33-'34s it is part of the same stamping. The fuel tank is under the seat in '32 cabs and in '33-'34 pickup cabs at the back of the chassis. The roof is detachable on all '33-'34 closed cabs, but only on late '32 closed cabs. The '32 floorboards are unique to that year's cab, etc., etc.

Sorry, I've not experienced the problem so I'm not likely to be helpful. Do you sign in and stay signed in (the "remember me" box checked)?

If/when you know, post list of needed AA parts you looking for/need. I belong to a club where this old timer has tried to have me take some AA trucks off of his hands....ha. Anyway, I can always ask him regarding whether he has what you need. Haven't seen his stash of parts/vehicles ...yet. But that's mostly because he is a good 'salesman' and has a LOT of treasures to be seen...and I used to be known , when younger, as junkcollector. |

Re: '32 BB truck builder info wanted
Thanks Mr. Hardtimes, I appreciate it. Turns out the '32 BB I'm working on is very early, and has AA front and rear axles. What I need to know, is how to set the backlash on the differential. Anybody had one apart to restore? Thanks guys!

By the way, I tried Tom, didn't get an answer, left a message, and no return call yet. That was Monday, the 16th.

Re: '32 BB truck builder info wanted
My brother completely restored our grandfathers '32 B Model stake body truck. You name it, he worked on it. I will put him onto Ford Barn and ask him to check in on this thread.
