Default Top irons and bows question please

Hi fellows. Question for all you expert Model A guys out there. I have a 28 Roadster pickup. And I was wondering if the top irons and bows from a 28-29 roadster car would fit my pickup. Or if any of you tried it before. These would be the foldable irons . Maybe I could make them fit. Any help would be appreciated fellows .Thank you very much. Bob.............

The open pickup top irons and roadster top irons are quite different. I suppose you could modify some roadster top irons, but I suspect it would be a big job and probably wouldn't look right when done.

An older fellow used to show up at the Amherst flea market with a 28 or 29 pickup that had a car top on it.He had a plank bolted across the back of the cab that the top was fastened down to.The plank overhung the bed by quite a lot. Also, the distance on the pickup cab at the rear is a lot wider than the car.The truck is square at the rear, and on the car that is where the top makes a round corner. On the one I saw the plank was exposed about 4 inches on those corners. Also, the rear of the top was high,so it looked like a ski slope heading down to the windshield. His situation was no money, but a lot of old parts in his barn to use.He was always looking to trade his top for the right one.
