Do you have the nozzles and gaskets? Can't you you just mark on top side of your dash using the nozzles or gasket as a template for mounting holes?

If the windshield isn't out, I'd guess you need to take it out to drill. Important to get them right or the wiper linkages won't clear.

A right angle drill is what I used . Measure holes across the defrost nozzles transfer to dash across vent. hope this helps.

Re: 1952 ford f1 heater
Did your truck come from the factory with electric wipers? Or are the holes for them in your dash?
Here are some pics I took while doing some wiper mods. To be honest, I don't think the assembly line guys spent much time getting the holes exactly in the right spot. As far as defroster performance goes, you can hardly go wrong, but it's the wiper linkages that need to be considered. I think even a short right angle drill is going to put the bit at quite an angle, making the bit walk around.

Re: 1952 ford f1 heater
I have my defrost tubes in,my recurlating heater box refurbished and in place, not hooked up. I am a little concern how close the heater core is to the cardboard glovebox liner though, anybody have any issues with this??

Re: 1952 ford f1 heater
Since the average temperature at which paper will ignite and burn is between 424 and 475 degrees Fahrenheit, and water boils at 212, I doubt there would be any problem.
