Default Need Cylinder Head

I stupidly moved my 29A into my unheated shop last summer without checking to see if I had enough antifreeze. (For years the car was in my heated garage).
During a cold snap here in western Washington in January the head froze and cracked. (Never gets cold enough inside a shop in western WA to freeze?)
Anyway is there anyone, preferably in the Seattle to Portland area that has a good spare head for a 29 motor for a reasonable price that they are willing to sell? If so send me a private message. I am located a little south of Olympia. Thanks

You are an extremely lucky guy if just the head cracked. When they crack enough for the head to crack they are usually cracked in the front of the block under the water pump, and on the left side of the block where it rolls down under to meet the cylinders.

Be sure to contact your local club as shipping probably will be more than the price of the head. Good aftermarket high compression heads have destroyed the value of original heads.

Are you going to the almost spring swap meet this weekend at the Puyallup fairgrounds? It’s sponsored by the galloping Gerties model A club. If you want to come, I can pretty much guarantee a head. I’ll be there all weekend as I’m in charge of outside vendor support. Let me know, and I’ll be sure someone brings a decent head. I also will have a running repaired engine in a test stand for sale.
