Exhaust Manifold Question
If I run these manifolds, what’s the best way to get from the manifold to the muffler? Is the flange something I can get at a parts store? It looks like a flat gasket not the donut style?
Lastly, is there a better looking block off plate? The car is a 39 sedan, the engine is a 8BA. I’m not sure what the manifolds belong to. Thanks for all help. |

Re: Exhaust Manifold Question
Don't know answer to first question but the block off plate is the way most look. You could make your own own of 1/4 in. steel or aluminum.

Re: Exhaust Manifold Question
The manifolds appear to be '49 - '50 Mercury.

Re: Exhaust Manifold Question
I had dual exhaust installed on my '60 Ford and the guy never used a tape measure or wrote anything down. He just looked at the bottom of the car, moved his hands like he was imagining the pipe, went to the bender and both sides fit perfectly and was symmetrical. Crazy to watch him work. Said he'd been doing it since he was 13 yrs old, I imagine 50+ yrs.
