% Year Antifreeze

I've always used "green" Prestone antifreeze in my A. I 'd like to change to one of the new 5-year antifreezes in this years change. Is there any reason not to use one of these in an A engine? Do you have any brand recommendations? Thanks.

Just use the "green" Prestone for 5 years. Methinks the annual change is just a marketing ploy to sell more product.

I've seen/heard that the antifreeze itself does not wear out, but the additives deplete. Are there bottled additives for refreshing the additives available?


Have also heard/seen that antifreeze should have a minimum 8.0 PH. If checked this way would an additive restore the PH?

Yes, there are antifreeze additive supplements available, as well as test strips to dip into the radiator. Just check at a heavy truck shop.
