There is nothing like fresh brookies for breakfast! Looks like you're using a fly rod - was the creek big enough to actually cast and lay line out?

Not the place for fly fishing . Dunkin half crawlers .

The long rod is great for getting to little undercuts .
Most fish are hiding under the banks .

YESSIR on fresh orange meat Brookies for breakfast .

That car is really special David J. So nice to see it getting it's legs stretched a little, with the top down to boot!

So, the ticks... More or less than the number of fish?

Just 2 ticks and I gotz dem B4 they could attach .
Around here you learn to watch for the little devils .

I've put almost 2,000 miles on it and it has settled down nicely .

Flushed the cooling system , replaced the fuel filter a couple times and changed oil , tranny and rear lube and am now driving it a lot on nice days .

Did put all the side curtains on but you can't see very good with them on so back in the tattered pouch .

Not the same without Mike as I had never been in the car without him before .
Still missya bud .

RIP

Here we legally have to release anything less than 14 inches (used to be 16 inches but the health of the freshwater fisheries has allowed a relaxation in the limit) Also some spawning streams can't be fished at certain times of the year and there are limits on what gear you can use- for example where I fish spinning is not allowed in the streams . Trolling is allowed on the lake but only a single hook lure . Bait fishing is totally forbidden. The only species of fresh water fish we fish for are are Brown and Rainbow Trout and Salmon.- but they grow big in our pure waters. Last year my brother returned a 15 lb Brown trout to the water as it was "slabby" that is in spent condition post spawning. He took it on a fly designed to resemble and the same size as a drowning mouse.

Despite all the rules we don't mind as still pretty easy to catch good fish.
I release most of mine as apart from smoked I don't enjoy the taste.

Come on down I'll take you fishing !

Thread wasn't supposed to be about size - just the car going fishing .

These were caught in the same creek but I was driving the pickup .

Lip of the sink to the jog in the counter top is just over 19" .

From what I read and watch NZ is obviously a special place .

Nothing better than trout fishing and old cars. I love them both. I warned the wife before we got married and now she's totally involved too.

My favorite breakfast is fresh trout, eggs and hashbrowns . . . I get Mom to make it when I catch trout in our little creek and dams out in the ranch in South Dakota.

Out here in Western Washington we have cutthroat trout. When I was younger I caught one so big I couldn't fit it in the ol' '59 Ford pickup I had in High School. I figured nobody would believe me so I took a picture to prove it. The picture weighed 5 lbs.

Thanks David Nice fish
New Zealand is a special place . Just a long way from everywhere .
Our economy depends a lot on tourism and exporting food to the world.
With us entering our 7th week of lockdown and all our borders closed Tourism is non existent in the foreseeable future. Getting our product to the rest of the world may also be problematic as freight fights have disappeared with the falling passenger flights.

Fortunately we appear to have gained control of the virus (at this stage ) with "only" 20 deaths nationally (over half of those from one dementia unit in a Resthome) and single figure new cases nationally daily-when at one stage we appeared on modelling to be on the same trajectory as Italy - but the cost will be high for us economically.

Oh how I envy you being able to drive your car and go fishing !

Stay safe

Karl ,
Thanks and I hope you catch some biggunz when you get to fish again .

I am sending a pair of heads to NZ this week so the shipping situation is going to ensnare me .

Orange Roughy comes from there does it not ?
Good stuff .

I will give a shout if I ever get there .

Pic is from the 90's and is yours truly with a 16 # female Brown trout and a 11# Male Brown Trout .
Caught lots of them like that fishing Green Bay out of Marinette WI .
It's trolling type fishing but the Browns are worth it .

In the right setting I like flipping flys at them also .

I wish all well on this covid mess as it is really hurting the entire world .
Political bickering is not helping here .
So sad !!!!!

Let's see - "fresh trout, eggs, and hashbrowns" on one side and "grits and grunts" on the other.

I pick Wisconsin for breakfast.

Haha. Great pict. One of my fondest fishing memories is fishing for native brookies up in Potter Co., PA. Stream was like you described. At one point, I was straddled over it and letting the bait drift over and behind a rock and bam! Caught my limit. Lots of fun and, as others mentioned, they are really good eating.

Love the car and the stories.
