Default Model A Driving Game

I am a member of another forum for motorcycles, and we play a game that is really fun, and gets people out on the road with their vehicles. Some of you might have played it before.

A member drives their Model A to a "point of interest" and takes a picture of the "point of interest" with their Model A in the foreground. It can be anything , like a windmill, McDonalds, parts store, bridge, etc. That person then posts that picture, and its a "race" for all the members to find a similar "point of interest, and take a picture with their Model A and post it. The first one to post a picture of what has been tagged, gets to announce the next POI, and so it goes on and on and on. It's actually quite fun because you get to see places where other people live, and their Model A's.

Anyone up for this? All pictures posted must be current. (no cheating) I'd start with a picture, but I'm under repair right now.

I'm up for this...I like games, keeps my mind active and alert!!!! Can't take any photos yet, Sarah is still in the hospital. I just got back from Florida myself where I bathed in the Fountain of Youth for a week, I want to look as young as Sarah when she comes home.

Then you were not in Fort Lauderdale! After a 15 day cruise our ship landed in Fort Lauderdale where we sat out around the pool with sweat pants and jackets. The weather was indeed a disappointment.

I can't get an answer from the knowledgeable guys on here. I've tried looking at color samples on the Model A sites and it's too hard to tell from a computer. Only thing I have is the PPG color code.

Next tag is historic church. Sorry for the poor quality of pictures but it's the best I could get tonight. It was fun running the back country roads of Tennessee in the night. The sign reads Church of Christ Est. 1837 Rock Spring.

I though it a little funny that the tag was " a Mexican restaurant" and you found THE MEXICAN RESTAURANT!!

To find an old church may take me outside of my 20 mile comfort zone!

Also, thats a good looking ride!

Mitch the game never really ends. Now someone has to take a picture of the Model A in front of a covered bridge. The first person to do so gets to pick the next tag.

Are you wanting to kill it?

If it goes a few days without anybody getting it, maybe you can change it to just a bridge...

Let me reiterate the rules. All pictures must be new! The idea is to get out on the road! No photoshop. You can't reuse a tag. Once something has been tagged, it's done. If the tag goes longer than a week, the original tagger can broaden the tag. (example; going from a covered bridge, to a bridge).

Visible Gas Pump is the current tag. (grandfathered in before rules clarification)

I'm sure someone can take a photo of their A with a pump. I can probably get one this weekend.

Tag has been changed to "any gas pump". That should be generic enough to get things moving.

I looked everywhere for a visible gas pump and couldn't find one.

I will accept that, (because no one could find one),but you need a photo from today to make the next tag.

Make sure it's not too hard.

The object of the game is not to see how hard we can make it on the next guy. It simply is a game to get you off the couch and into your Model A. Searching through your photos from a past event ( although some pictures are cool) is not the point. So with that said get off the computer or phone and let's get these Fords on the roads. Have fun and let's keep the tags fair so this game can be enjoyed by everyone.

This area used to be a local farm, but was bought by a developer. There were multiple silos on the property that were kept, painted, and designed into the development.

Bump.....now before it gets lost again. Finding things when you get old can be daunting especially things that have shrunk from old age. I've an old garage just down the street, be back shortly.

It's the only business structure left in town and I wanted to by it and turn it into my Texaco Station but....it floods almost every year. Hasn't been a garage for years now.

I like the garage with gun slits in the roof......to keep the enemy at bay.

And that's the first time I've seen a log corn crib, but you'll have to fill in the windows.

Actually Tom, that's the Shaw Homestead and the founder of this village. He was a frontiersman/riverboat captain and also that house was a Mississippi River boat stop.
It's being restored by a friend of mine. A couple of years ago, it couldn't be seen from the road that passes just in front it was that over grown. It has a double chimney.

We have log cabins all over this county and mostly still lived in.

I have come to the conclusion that most people do not drive their A's, or they do not know how to operate the camera on their phones. Maybe both. Either way, this thread is... DEAD.

Maybe then the thread needs bumped more often or....maybe the subject can become a foundation for a Special Group... what say you Charlie, you started the idea?

I'd say with almost 7,000 views people enjoy following the thread, so I say leave it where its at. The tag is something "patriotic", or someone can start a new one to get it going again. I only drive on the weekends now because I'm not a fan of driving to and from work in the dark. Rules again are...

1) only new pics
2) take a picture of the "tag" with your pre 1975 vehicle in it. (this may broaden peoples ability to play)
3) Take a picture of your chosen "tag" with your pre 1975 vehicle in the pic.
4) Post both

Where did I get the name 'Charlie' at???? Who knows!!!!

Chris, even though Sarah will be heading to Larry's soon, I won't participate further if this is extended outside the Model A family. I want to see Model A's in the photos, even it's the same Model A over and over again, the background will change and the location will have an interest too.

I know, "Charlie Wilson's War"............

Go to the paper clip, click on it and it will take you to browse your photo file, click on the photo you want to load and then click submit reply.

The tail markings on that plane were the same tail markings on the C-46 I jumped out of at Normandy but that's a C-47 from the 50s.

you are correct, I can't remember the info sheet that was on the plane. but it spent it's life as a cargo plane in different parts of the world.
