Re: Marco's Roadster Colors
Thanks All,
What a great site that is And please forgive the protocol error on the "Search" function... Today was the first time my wife has visited the Barn, and the first time she posted a question for the members.... I had been remiss in going ove r the FB search feature with her thoroughly. Several initial searchs for the roadtser color site frequently got pushback that denied access. (My wife is a color specialist and preserves works of art on paper. We're getting ready to pick the color for our 68C..... Her opinion is critical.) JB |

If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy! If it's any help, I vote for Bronson Yellow - I think Cabriolet color should be flamboyant. But Ford Maroon also is nice if you want it more staid. |

Re: Marco's Roadster Colors
If I was fortunate enough to have a Cabriolet the Bronson Yellow would be the last color I would have it painted. It seems to me the majority of Cabriolets I have seen are Bronson Yellow. Recently I saw one at the New England Meet Painted Kewanee Green. Very nicely done and wish I owned it.
Just my two cents worth, but like it has been quoted several times here "to each his own". |

Re: Marco's Roadster Colors
Marco is an amazing man. So dedicated to the hobby that he repainted his Roadster over and over to show the different color combinations. Not only that but he did it in record time because the landscaping hardly changed.
There should be a special award for that dedication. Wait, it just dawned on me that Marco has a Roadster of each color in his stable of fine Model A's. Marco, I know that you lurk this site. Love ya, brother! P.S. Can I have one of your "extra" Roadsters? Seriously, isn't that one of the best special effects in this hobby's archives. It would be great if there were something like that for each body type. Marco!!!! |

Re: Marco's Roadster Colors
The color combo in post #8, the Bronson Yellow, looks good in that picture I like that too, but every Bronson Yellow Model A I ever saw seemed to be more of a brighter Canary yellow. Even the Bronson Yellow Roadster they used in a scene from Bonnie and Clyde (1967) when Clyde goes into the Bank that has already failed and takes the clerk out to the car to explain to Bonnie why there is no money in the Bank looks more 'yellowish' than Mr. Tahtaras' picture. I like the Washington Blue Roadster that they are in when they stop at the gas station and CW Moss gets the car running again. Dirt in the fuel line just 'blowed it away'.
Only problem with the Washington Blue is that 75% of '30-'31 Model A Roadsters got painted that color probably because it is so nice looking. It's fun to see them in the other colors that didn't get used as much in current restorations. Too bad records of Model A production that would indicate how many were painted what color don't exist. That is what makes the 'Marti Report' on 60's Fords so cool, it is broken down into exact details and numbers of the cars. |
