I need a good used 55 manual steering box. Mine has a flat spot in both the sector and worm gears and a rebuilt is $635! with these gears replaced. As near as I can determine there is no other year or make that will work. Any comments/ Please!

Thomas.........Where are you located?I have a 55 steering gear box that came off of a 67,000 mile car.I'd like $100 for it,but if you're very far away the shipping might be prohibitive.

Yes but they want about $700 for a rebuild with new sector and worm gear which is what I need. for the amount of driving and this not being a trailer queen I just can't justify that much money.

Joblot Autos have the worm and sector gears. You can press them on yourself.
