What aftermarket Jack do you use?
For those of us not having a correct issue Ford jack, wondering what aftermarket jacks Barners are using.
As always, thank you in advance! |

Re: What aftermarket Jack do you use?
I'm using one of these. Works well and the handle they offer is at least 6' long and reaches out to where you can operate the jack easily. Good quality.

Re: What aftermarket Jack do you use?
Since mt first old car in 1970 I've never carried a jack. Probably been lucky. Lately since I've got the 40 standard coupe with a trunk big enough to camp in I've been carrying a small aluminum floor jack with a 4.5 ft handle that will go under almost anything, lift high enough and has a nice rubber pad on the lift area. When I'm traveling in my deuces I make sure I have the 800 number of AAA and my cell phone for a rescue if needed.

A small bottle jack is easy to carry so that is what I use.

Re: What aftermarket Jack do you use?
if you have a 39 Merc, you need a bumper jack in order to be able to remove a rear wheel.

Re: What aftermarket Jack do you use?
Remember some later Fords have such tight rear wheel wells, that they have to go WAY up for a change. Very shaky. 49-53, I'm thinking. Newc

My 46 i got in high school came with a 36 flip top jack and 3 piece handle, I used that on many cars, now it’s part of the 36 toolkit

Re: What aftermarket Jack do you use?
A scissors jack from a Ford Windstar van. All the pieces, handle, jack and lug wrench fit together. Just add a 1 by 6 board for a base to set it on.
Lifts my 1949 Ford rear using it on the frame (not the axle) high enough to remove the rear wheel from the fender over hang. Cheap item from your local vehicle recycling yard. (formerly called junkyard). |

Re: What aftermarket Jack do you use?
If you use a scissors jack weld or bolt a larger base to it for stability.
