Default Steomberg problems

I just put a cragar manifold and a stromberg 97 on my model a. At idle car sounds and runs good. The second you hit the throttle it chokes itself out and then backfires. I have tried .45 jets and .42 jet. Can anyone please give me some advice?

Thanks,
David

I wonder if there is a chance you fouled your plugs.

My experience is that it runs out of fuel and backfires. I think you need a fuel pump. After adding one the car ran better than any A in my fleet.

First check the fuel level and accelerator pump operation, if OK, try larger jets. A fuel pump may be needed but maybe not.

I had to add a fuel pump and pressure regulator for mine to "quit running out of fuel".
