Re: arturos 36
Didn't really get much done this week. I did manage to remove the axle from the wishbones. Damn, that was a pain !
I've also pretty much decided to go with a T5 and 9". |

The car did not come with a motor, steering wheel, box, or column. Everything else is pretty much there and is all stock. Brakes were updated. The car was a running car until the early 80's, then it was put into storage. The floors are solid without repairs or patches. I have not seen any rust in them. As for interior. It's seems to be pretty much there. The seat frame, is just a metal frame and needs to be recovered. I need new gages for the dash. I do have an extra upholstered seat and door panels out of a 36 3W, but I do not know if they will fit ? |

Re: arturos 36
Hey elturo! Great to hear that you're back on the 36'! There's a few kits out there for the trans. I got my from Kyrlon32 from Cornhuskers here on the barn. Gary's a real helpful guy. My floors were in great shape so I just seam sealed and primed.

Re: arturos 36
Would highly recommend you consider a dropped original axle vs a modern axle. Much better look and the quality of the original. Check out Sid's (your in OK to boot!!!).
http://www.droppedaxles.com/FORD_AXLES.html The actual guy that drops them is Okie Joe, he is an interesting guy to visit with. http://www.joesspeedshop.com/joesproducts.htm Stick shift or automatic? |

Re: arturos 36
elturo, I like your choice in cars! I would definitely go with a dropped axle, reversed eyes and upgrade the steering to '37 to '40 box. If you can find a Ford 8" out of a Granada you'll be happier, just the right width and the springs pads are in the right place.

Elturo you might want to spend some time talking with Okie Joe, very nice guy (and also enjoy talking with his wife). He is very knowable on Ford Hot Rods!

Re: arturos 36
Bigger tires in the front would look really weird. I prefer same size tires all around, unless you're racing.

Re: arturos 36
What are my options for radiators ? Attempt to re-build the stock one? It looks pretty rough. The one side on the top is smashed.

Re: arturos 36
I would normally recommend a BrassWorks radiator. But with an engine replacement you could get by with an aluminum radiator. There are several companies that sell them.
