Is it not just as easy to fab an exhaust adapter? I like the way it holds the engine better and also like access to the bellhousing area.

Alright, I'm sold. Now who makes and sells one for the pre=1937 Ford V8?

This old Engine Stand belongs to a mate. It came from an old Garage. Please ignore the 3 x 3 Pine clamped in the middle, it was only added so that the whole Stand could be moved around. It appears that you attach the Side Clamps, (refer bottom photo) to the Engine, then "flip' the top part of Clamps on each end, and lift the Motor into place, then close the Clamps and lock in place. You can see that these Side Clamps have a tube attached that fits into the top slots, (not readily visible). Apparently, this Engine Stand was a universal one, and originally came with all different Brackets to suit the different motors that were in use back then. Unfortunately, my mate only got the Mounts for the Flathead V8.
Can anyone shed any light on this Engine Stand?

I don't know who sells them but I made one for less than $20. Used a sawzall, welder, drill, some 3/8" flat steel and a short piece of steel tube that fit my chinese stand. If you know someone with that stuff you can gin one-up in less than an hour. Use an exhaust manifold to layout the holes.
