Default Bosch blue coil in a v8 ??

Can anyone shed a little light on the use of the Bosch blue coil #00012 which is intended for use on a 4 or 6 cyl. engine. I read in some old posts that Bubbas ignition recomends this blue coil with a pertronix conversion and 12 volts. My guestion is, will this coil be OK even though the resistance is greater than 1.5 ohms. The blue coil specs at 3.3 ohms witch is good for a 4 or 6 cyl. engine. I have used a Pertronix coil with 1.5 ohms. and they seem to be junk after a period of time, my second Pertronix coil has just failed. Thank you for any help.
