It was great to reread Dave Cole's article about this car and the anecdote about the rear bumper brackets. Few '32s yet exist in this condition. One big plus is its upholstery of Bedford cord instead of the far more common rose beige mohair. Not mint, but close and best by far left as is and enjoyed.

Perhaps a bit overpriced in today's circumstances, but not by much. I would certainly find room for it in my garage if I were a bit younger.

Because it remains 98% as built with the radio, fan, and front mat as notable exceptions.

For many years there was one much like the above 32 in Pioneer Village in Minden Nebraska. A few years ago they had an auction I assume to cover declining attendance and maintenance costs. I have no idea of the 32 is still there?

I have always believed that the most significant issue of the marvelous 1932 Ford was the introduction of the Ford flathead V8 engine. That is also the theme of this very forum. I do not mean to diminish the charm of this time preservation in any way. However, the interest to the folks of this Early V8 forum and nearly all enthusiasts of old automobiles would be greatly increased if it had an original Ford flathead V8 engine! It is an interesting story but I personally would have no interest in ownership of this car.

If you have no interest, why comment?

Perhaps you would have more interest if you knew that the Ford Model B was more powerful, more reliable, and longer lasting than the 1932 Ford V8.

Geez fellas, I did not know that you had such tender feelings about the 4 banger. I thought this was the EARLY V8 FORUM!

I said I had no interest in owning it David. I did not say I had no interest in the car. I have an interest in all cars which include all brands. It looks like I crossed the line this time. Probably end up with CharlieNY on the outside looking in? This is the V8 forum after all.

I like the flathead V8 as much as the next person. I generally like 32 to 53 Fords (and 54 for our Canadian sourced friends) with whatever engine Ford originally put in them. I have friends with B model 33s and I have a 6 cylinder 53 sedan that runs down the highway better than most flathead V8s I have seen in recent memory. I think there is room in this forum for the cars and engines Ford made that are not just the flathead V8.

Ford Folks,
I like that car! And would be happy to own it. Now having a greater appreciation for the early fords with what ever engine Ford jammed in there. What about some Fords with tractor engines in them? Maybe that was only trucks? This is the place I have learned about these cars and trucks too!
I think I saw this a long time ago. This car is not for sale now is it?
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Besides the pickups with the tractor engines, there are also other odd-balls like me that like Ford GPW's.... Which have a banger based on Jeep/Continental, and manufactured by Ford. And, I really like the 32 with it's flathead Ford engine, which is the subject of this thread. And, crossing a line, I also like the engines that have a 'conversion', such as Riley, Roof, Miller, Cragar, and Ardun, etc, etc. (Even the Chevy/Olds heads on Ford blocks!)

If this is a flathead V8 forum, then the only content can be about engines.

It is the FORD barn after all. And I take the “Early V8” forum to refer to that era of Ford, not merely that engine. I’d like to learn about chassis and body components too. And other factory engines if I had one of those 4 or 6 cylinder cars.

There have been several original 32 sedans of much better quality for sale in the last couple years for less money. V8 or 4?
