1940 style generator rear end plate.
I found an old 41 Ford generator with a cast iron rear end plate. What I have seen, in the past, is the white metal die cast end plate. The cast iron end plate does have the 01A- Ford part number. Does anyone have any additional info about this end plate? Such as when it may have been originally used?

Maybe because of wartime, aluminum was saved for airplanes and the end plate was a replacement. I have a couple of 21A distributors that are wartime cast iron.

deuce roadster: Also my thoughts, especially since the generator has late 41 date code (V-11) with the armature date coded the same (for 42 production). I did not think the rear light weight plate was aluminum (pot metal or white metal) but it could be.
From my present day knowledge the USA was partially gearing up for the war prior to Dec. 7th |

Interesting. I wonder if this was also done with starters?
