Hey guys I have my trans out for a freshening and new clutch ect. I pulled my oil pan down to clean all the sludge and replace pan gasket. The engine did not leak much oil at all but I want to replace the lower main seals in the pan as long as I have it apart, besides when I steamed cleaned my pan it disturbed the seals. My main question is in the felpro gasket kit it came with regular black rope seals for the rear it also came with white seals for both front and rear.I assume the white is a newer style seal.Is there any pros or cons with one or the other? If I use the white ones do I soak them? Should I put a dab of rtv on the ends? Any tips from the enging builders would be great. I used a roloc disc to clean block and pan mating surfaces.
Thanks Joe
